The Artist

Hello, thank you for taking the time to look at my artwork.

I live in the vibrant city of Cambridge, I am blessed to live close to so many Ancient sites

About four years ago I became aware of images in my mind; of beautiful colours, shapes and places that I had either seen during meditation, healing through Reiki, or out on walks. These images were becoming louder and louder inside my head. I had never considered myself to be an “artist” in the traditional sense as my background has always been a classically trained photographer.

One day I found myself in the art aisle looking at the pastels at my local craft store. Before I knew it, I was purchasing my first pack of Soft Pastels and art pad. Life continued and I put these art supplies in a cupboard waiting for the “right time” when I wasn't busy. A few weeks later I attended a workshop and during one of my meditations I was given an image so clear and beautiful that I felt inspired to go home, get the bag of art supplies out and get started!

I am self taught and find that I am drawn to Abstract work mostly. I like to try and recreate what I see during meditative states using Soft and Oil Pastels. Having spent over 25 years working as a Psychiatric Nurse I had advised so many people to try using art as a form of therapy. I never truly appreciated how powerful this tool was until I sat down and started drawing for myself. The time between starting and finishing my art pieces is truly magical. I am lost in a sea of colours, shapes, images, stories, & energy that I forget about the outside world. The joy of completing a piece of artwork and looking at it wondering what will it be that I have created? For I never truly know what I am going to create until its finished. I spend my time meditating and connecting in with the energy that surrounds me. I listen to Gaia and what she has to say.

When I sit and draw I stop being “mum, wife, daughter, running a household, caring for my children with Special Needs” the restraints of life do not hold me back. I am free, as free as the movements of the colours creating the patterns on the page. I get taken to a world that is unseen by most of us on Earth. My work is Intuitive, with a strong connection to the Divine Feminine with her stages of Enchantress, Maiden, Mother, & Crone. Listening to the Earth and watching how beautiful she is. This is what I try to recreate in my artwork. All the artwork I complete is channelled from the Universe as it has a voice that needs to be heard.
